In leadership roles across diverse international cultural contexts, I have consistently found that people thrive when given the opportunity and support to establish meaningful goals, navigate challenges, and determine their own actions for success. My leadership style actively incorporates coaching principles – unlocking the potential of individuals to maximise their own performance.
This approach was essential for navigating the most challenging period of my career, serving as a Director for the British Council in mainland China throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
I was honoured to be awarded an OBE in 2023 for services to UK/China cultural and educational relations.
My passion for effective leadership and understanding the influences on people’s potential led me to train as an executive coach. I now combine my international leadership experience and coaching skills to support individuals make positive changes in their professional lives.

I strongly believe that with the right mindset, focus, and support we can all make positive changes to maximise our potential.
As a coach, I collaborate with individuals aiming to enhance their effectiveness in areas such as leadership skills, decision making, self-confidence, strategic thinking, stress management, communication, working with others, and many more.
During coaching sessions, I create a dedicated, safe environment for clients to think through issues in depth, clarify intentions and goals, consider different perspectives, identify obstacles, recognise their strengths, and plan steps to reach their objectives.
My approach is rooted in the belief that in the right coaching environment and process, people will uncover their own insights and take the actions to maximise their potential.
Clients have reflected that they appreciate my practical leadership experience and calm, non-judgemental coaching style.
Building trust and creating a safe environment is at the core of my approach to coaching and I adhere to ICF and EMCC codes of ethics.
